About This Course
Course Duration One Year Full-time
Leads to NFQ Level 6 QQI Award in Cartoon Animation
The Animation industry in Ireland is vibrant and growing and has been identified as an area in which there are significant skills gaps.
This course will develop strong skills in the area of computerised animation; 3D design and modelling; and developing animation sequences and stories.
Graduates of the course will be ready for entry-level positions in the computerised animation industry.
Entry Requirements
It is desirable that students have a prior qualification (QQI Level 5 or equivalent) in the Art/Design area. Applicants without an existing qualification will be required to demonstrate that they have the required aptitude and skills for this course. When called for interview all applicants will be asked to present a portfolio of their work.
Progression
Successful students will have a strong portfolio that will direct them towards employment; or enable them to apply through the Higher Education Links Scheme to a range of colleges in Ireland and further afield.

Course Cost:
In response to the cost-of-living crisis, we are implementing a significant reduction in fees for all domestic (EU, EEA, Stamp 4) students undertaking a PLC course in the upcoming academic year. All charges, excluding a nominal, non-refundable, registration charge of €50, will be waived.
