Course Duration One Year Full-time
Leads to NFQ Level 5 QQI Award in Multimedia Production
The interactive media and games sector has been identified as a priority area for training as there is currently a skills shortage in this growth industry. This exciting course has been designed to provide the learner with the practical skills needed to commence a career in this dynamic industry.
The course has been developed in conjunction with the Fastrack to Information Technology (FIT) initiative. FIT is an industry-led initiative that responds to the technology needs of industry through providing training, support and career opportunities for unemployed people.
Entry Requirements
Open to those who have completed the Leaving Certificate or its equivalent. It is targeted at students with a specific interest in this sector who are willing to get involved and participate during the college year. Since places on the course are limited, applicants will be interviewed.
Progression
Students who successfully complete this course may wish to advance to Level 7 and 8 courses at Institutes of Technology and Universities, including:
- BSc in Multimedia (Bachelor Honours Degree) – DCU (DC133)
- BA in Creative Digital Media - TUD (TU981)
- BA in Media Production and Digital Arts - TUD (TU982)
- BA in Games Design - TUD (TU984)
- BSc in Computing in Interactive Digital Art and Design - SETU (SE608)
- BSc in Creative Media and User Experience Design - TUS (US804)
Students also have the option to progress to the Level 6 Multimedia course offered in Stillorgan College of Further Education.

Course Cost:
In response to the cost-of-living crisis, we are implementing a significant reduction in fees for all domestic (EU, EEA, Stamp 4) students undertaking a PLC course in the upcoming academic year. All charges, excluding a nominal, non-refundable, registration charge of €50, will be waived.
