Board of Management

BOARD OF MANAGEMENT

Stillorgan College of Further Education is a constituent College of the Dublin and Dun Laoghaire Education and Training Board (DDLETB).

The board of management manages the college on behalf of the DDLETB, in accordance with legislation; Department of Education and Skills (DES) circulars, guidelines and procedures; and any policies or strategies that the ETB may establish regarding the operation of its schools/colleges.

The primary role of a board of management is one of governance. Governance is about providing direction and oversight for the college while ensuring that the rights of all members of the college community are upheld and that the college is accountable for its work.

The functions of a board may, in the main, be categorised under three different headings:

  • Policy setting and strategic planning
  • Monitoring the implementation of policy, strategy and plans
  • Supporting the principal and his staff

The Board’s members are:

  • Mr Brian Mooney (Chairperson)
  • Cllr Kazi Ahmed, ETB Nominee
  • Cllr Michael Clark, ETB Nominee
  • Cllr Eva Dowling, ETB Nominee
  • Dr Kevin Wallace, Head of Department of Humanities and Arts Management, IADT Dun Laoghaire
  • Ms Adriana Di Mascio, Stillorgan Chamber of Commerce
  • Ms Carol Burke, Staff Nominee
