Course Duration One Year Full-time

Leads to NFQ Level 5 QQI Award in Creative Media

The course will develop the artistic and technical skills that are involved in creating characters, stories and worlds using advanced digital technologies.

Students will learn the fundamentals of digital design, storytelling, animation principles as well as how to build, light and compose animation sequences and stories.

This course is suitable for those who wish to pursue a career in the Animation industry, but who may not have the drawing skills required to pursue a more-traditional Animation course.

Entry Requirements

Candidates should be able to demonstrate an interest in Animation. It is targeted at students with a specific interest in this sector who are willing to get involved and participate during the college year.

Since places on the course are limited, applicants will be interviewed.


On completion, students will have a strong portfolio of work that will facilitate their progression to a range of advanced courses, including:

Course Cost:

In response to the cost-of-living crisis, we are implementing a significant reduction in fees for all domestic (EU, EEA, Stamp 4) students undertaking a PLC course in the upcoming academic year. All charges, excluding a nominal, non-refundable, registration charge of €50, will be waived.

Join us on Wednesday, 13 December for our annual Christmas Fair competition in aid of LauraLynn.
Students from Stillorgan College joined students from DFEI and Greenhills college on Thursday, 23 November as part of the annual DDLETB Student Society inter-college bowling challenge.
There was great celebrations in the college on Tuesday, 17 October when Stillorgan College was presented with its Green Flag to recognise its new status as a Green Campus.
There was a great buzz in the college today, Wednesday 4 October as the college participated in a Wellness Walk in aid of Laura Lynn.
